2023 September

I am pleased to report that all our members who attended our August axe throwing event left with all fingers and toes intact! Good times were had by all who attended. Thank you to our sponsors: ChartSquad, C. Jackson Investigation, Simon Law Group, and Doctors on Liens. The inaugural event was a crowd pleaser and hopefully will return next year. OCTLA was extremely busy in August, as we also hosted a Night at the Horse Races event. Win or lose, our members had a great time watching the horses run. Thank you to Traci Kaas and Kaas Settlements for sponsoring this fun event.

Seminars on Protecting the record at trial and AI

On September 28, 2023, OCTLA will be hosting an in-person MCLE seminar on Appeals: How to Protect Your Record During Discovery and Trial. The speakers will be Jeffrey Ehrlich of the Ehrlich Law Firm (and editor of Advocate magazine) and Steven Schuetze of Bentley More.

In October we will be presenting another in-person MCLE on “Understanding AI” with speakers Robert Simon of the Simon Law Group, Hellay Taherian of Roberts Jeandron Law Firm, and Raymond Mieszaniec of Evenup Law.

Quite possibly the most important work the OCTLA Board is doing now is preparation for the annual Top Gun Awards and Auction benefiting CASA OC to be held on November 11, 2023 at the Grove in Anaheim. We are gathering silent and live auction items as we speak. Please consider donating a bottle of wine, a night on the town, sports tickets, vacation homes and gifts and gadgets. All donations are appreciated and 100% of the auction proceeds go straight to CASA OC.

CASA provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment, but they can’t perform this work without financial support from their community. Make a difference, donate today.
