Elizabeth A. Hernandez

Elizabeth A. Hernandez is a Trial Attorney with BD&J, PC in Los Angeles, where she represents individuals in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and premises liability matters. She currently serves as President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) and is the first Latina to hold this position in the organization’s 77‑year history.

Ms. Hernandez previously served as the 2024 President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County (MABA). She sits on the Board of Directors of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and serves on the Executive Committees of both the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Litigation Section and its Diversity in the Profession Section.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hernandez has earned numerous professional distinctions. She is the recipient of the 2025 Mexican American Bar Foundation (MABF) Professional Achievement Award, one of the organization’s highest honors, recognizing leaders who exemplify excellence, integrity, and meaningful impact in the legal profession. In 2022, she received CAOC’s Robert E. Cartwright, Sr. Award for excellence in trial advocacy and her commitment to educating fellow lawyers and the public. In 2021, she was named one of the Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers. She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Personal Injury Litigation-Plaintiffs since 2016 and has appeared on the Southern California Super Lawyers list since 2020.

Ms. Hernandez is also a frequent speaker at legal seminars and conferences, and her written work has been published in multiple legal publications. She takes great pride in mentoring others and is deeply committed to paying it forward by helping create pathways into the legal profession for future generations.
